INDIA – POWERFUL AND FULL OF CHARACTER

India produces about 30% of the world’s tea. Assam, located in the northeast of India, is known for its strong, dark tea with a rich flavor. This tea is an essential component of popular blends such as English Breakfast. Darjeeling, at the foothills of the Himalayas, is often called “the champagne of teas.” The cool, humid climate and high elevation create a refined, delicate taste.

SRI LANKA – THE LAND OF CEYLON

Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon, accounts for about 10% of global tea production. Ceylon tea is known for its bright color, fresh taste, and pleasant aroma. It is often used in various blends.

SOUTH AFRICA – THE ORIGIN OF ROOIBOS

Although rooibos is not a true tea, it is often considered as such. It comes from the rooibos plant, which grows only in South Africa. This herbal tea has a unique, sweet flavor and is naturally caffeine‑free.

AFRICA – RISE OF TEA CULTIVATION

Tea cultivation in Africa only began in the early 20th century. Today, countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, and Malawi are important producers. Kenya is known for its strong, robust tea that resembles Assam tea from India.

INDONESIA – JAVA AND SUMATRA

In Indonesia, Java and Sumatra are the two most important tea‑producing islands. Java produces colorful, aromatic tea, while tea from Sumatra often has a more metallic taste and is of lower quality.
